"Necromancer Bandmate" is the sixth episode of the second season of the Offices & Bosses miniseries. It was originally released on May 15, 2018.

Description

Dripfang joins the game as the campaign turns towards starting a band.

Summary

Usidore is concerned by their lack of progress in the Unemployment module, and worries what Dorian Deville’s endgame was in inserting himself into the proceedings.

Arnie explains satanism on Earth and quirkiness. Metamore explains the moral panic that occurred in Foon when Offices & Bosses was first introduced: parents became concerned that children would abandon their lives of witchcraft and become office clerks.

Dripfang the Necromancer arrives, having heard of the game and wanting to show off his O&B skills and existing character. He has his own character sheet ready, scribed on the skin of one of his murder victims. He is playing as new roommate Dr. Daniel Pyledriver, a Level 3 garage band drummer, with Dark Web contacts.

The group decides to form a band. John Bastion (Usidore) has a bass guitar he got in college, Hayden Christensen (Arnie) turns his MFA to song writing, Danger La Grange (Chunt) plays theremin, and the landlady Mrs. Ropley (Dorian) plays maracas and sings back-up. Through Daniel they already have a gig at the Drunken Moose.

Their goal becomes to sell out the show. They attempt to arrange up a battle of the bands but after some poor dice rolls they end up facing off against a local musical improv team.

After rehearsal they hit the street flyering. They have mixed success and turn to other strategies: Dr. Daniel blackmails a record producer to attend (and bring a cash payoff).

Arnie begins to suspect that Dripfang is using his snakes to cheat, but Dorian urges him not to make a fuss.

The improv group, N2N (“in tune”), brings a large crowd and the house is near full. The improv group starts out strong but is eventually sabotaged by bad suggestions from the players and Mrs. Ropley’s drunken antics. Arnie attacks with a broadsword.

The band begin to play, and entrance the crowd, but the bartender is furious about the sword attack. Hayden Christensen manages to steal the door earnings and the blackmail money. Dr. Daniel Pyledriver, Mrs. Ropley, and Danger La Grange escape as well; John Bastion is recruited by N2N.

Metamore congratulates the players for their dramatic turn-around. To win the module they need only to buy their TV.
