"The Vermilion Minotaur" is the sixth episode of season one of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on April 13, 2015. This episode features the first appearance of Nick Baer as Otok Barleyfoot, the owner and proprietor of the tavern.
Description
"After spending so much time in the Vermilion Minotaur, I finally got its owner and proprietor, Otok Barleyfoot, to be a guest on the podcast. Chunt will be there too. Usidore is already pretty drunk so I’m not sure what to expect from him."
Summary
Arnie finally gets to talk to the owner and proprietor of The Vermilion Minotaur, Otok Barleyfoot.
Chunt is a little out of sorts. He claims it is because he had a session modeling for some Chunt fetishists, but it seems like he is also starting to feel like Arnie is overstaying his welcome as Chunt's roommate.
Otok tells Arnie about his family. He is a widower, as his wife was crushed by a tree. His daughter, Activia Barleyfoot, has run off with a gang of hooligans known as The Falsetto Marauders. He wants to get her back.
Throughout the episode, Usidore can be heard in the background growing increasingly drunk and trying (in vain) to recruit adventurers for his quest. Arnie eventually takes a break in the middle of the podcast to try to help him, during which you hear Usidore becoming more belligerent.
When the podcast returns, Otok talks about what it's like running a tavern — how they are doing a fundraiser for an extension to the tavern to house the several unwed mothers who live there, and some of the themed nights including Open Mike Night and Chunt's Night.
He also explains how the bartenders deal in rumors, many of which are started by Chunt. One of the rumors is that a Raven's Crew member is working at the cobbler. There are rumors about Arnie, too: he's gay (not true), and that he poops standing up (true).
Chunt tells Arnie about the Foonish version of amusement parks, death parks.
