Description
"It feels like this may be it… our last chance to save Chunt."
Summary
Usidore sadly introduces himself because Chunt is neither looking good nor feeling good. He's accepted his fate and brought out his last will and test statement. In his will he bequeaths Usidore Chu Chu's Chow, Arnie gets Chunt's home, and Pimbly Nimblebottom gets everything in Chunt's home. Usidore grades Chunt's test, and finds he scored a 7 out of 10. Usidore expresses great sorrow that he couldn't find a way to reverse Chunt's curse, and as a consolation, has brought a pillow to smother Chunt with. Arnie is appalled, but Chunt explains that it is an honor to be smothered by someone you love, and become a kind of smothering brother. Arnie did his best to find the last piece of the puzzle: a slipper as pure as gold. While he could not find a gold slipper, he rooted around in his car (still parked in McShingleshane Forest) and found one of his baby daughter's booties, painted a gold color. Chunt is ready to die, though, and has prepared by lining his fur with rocks, ready to walk into The Lake. He has even written Arnie a poem: "Arnie Niekamp, taint so bad / Best damn friend I ever had". But now that Arnie has all the elements together, as a final effort, he puts them all onto the table while Usidore focuses magic onto the table.
Suddenly, a man is conjured onto the table! His name is Dorian Deville, and Arnie's efforts have released him from his prison on the Astral Plane. He was imprisoned there by the sky god Bruce after he froze one of Arnor the Warrior's loin cloths. He escaped by implanting the list of items required into Arnie's mind and compelling him to collect them for him. He was able to communicate to Arnie because of the hole left in his mind by the memory gremlin, and was lead to Arnie by Usidore's pillow talk to Jyn'Leeviyah. Arnie idly wonders if Usidore could be being "catfished" by someone else pretending to be Jyn'Leeviyah in the Astral Plane. But Dorian is very familiar with the curse, and says he can reverse it if Arnie can give him what he needs: the consent of an Earth person. He must also face three challenges to make sure he is worthy of making the deal. Usidore warns him by telling him a Foonish saying: "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours, but then I might ask you for something else you weren't really expecting."
The first task is to see if his hand is bigger than his face. Arnie complies and Dorian smacks his face. Chunt tricks Arnie into doing it a second time. The second task is for Arnie to eat a rooster's foot covered in spectral pepper hot sauce. Arnie complies, despite the fact that he has acid reflux. Arnie has an awful time, and begs Usidore to try some in solidarity. He does and is not at all bothered by the heat, nor is Chunt, who also tries some. It seems humans are more susceptible to hot spice than wizards or badgers.
After the break, Arnie must perform an a-Tomic sit-up: a sit-up normally performed by guys named Tom. Before Arnie goes to do a sit-up, he places a bar napkin on Arnie's face, with "YOU WILL FAIL" written on it, and claims that the bar napkin will be so heavy, he cannot perform a single sit-up. Arnie successfully does so, but Dorian has tricked him yet again by placing his butt in Arnie's path while he couldn't see, and Arnie's face ends up in Dorian's butt crack. Usidore finally picks up on the fact that Dorian is a trickster, and Chunt expresses his joy for seeing Arnie pranked. Fortunately, this is the end of Arnie's "challenges".
Dorian now explains what kind of consent he needs from Arnie: Chunt's curse cannot simply disappear or be cured. It must be transferred to a living person in Foon, who will then die immediately. Chunt suggests it be Chris, and Arnie suggests the Dark Lord, but Dorian says it will be a man, woman, or child that they do not know, someone unsuspecting. Arnie must make the choice whether to make this trade or not. This will fulfil Arnie's quest for saving Chunt, and Dorian's quest for consent. Arnie and Chunt discuss the morality of the situation. It reminds Chunt of when his witch friend Sophie had to make the tough decision of whether to order spiced potatoes or roosters' feet. Arnie asks that Chunt be honest with him and tell him that he wants to live, because he doesn't believe that Chunt is ready to die, and he's just preoccupied with "dying cool". Chunt says that he wants to live in order to help Arnie, his friend, get home. Arnie makes the decision to transfer the curse.
Chunt is cured! His arm is restored, he is healthy again, and gets on the table and does a little shuffle. However, Dorian will now go to the Northeast Kingdom and attempt to sit at Titania Belaroth's side as Albain Belaroth is now dead! Dorian has moved the curse from Chunt to Albain Belaroth at Arnie's command, and Arnie has killed the kind and gentle king of the Northeast! Dorian was jealous of Albain when Bruce inhabited him and slept with Titania, and is off to reclaim her love. He flies into the rafters and disappears. Chunt feels bad about his curse killing Tomblain Belaroth's father, but everyone agrees that this is Arnie's fault. Chunt suggests that Arnie get the name Kingkiller or Kingslayer, if neither of them are taken. Arnie implores everyone to keep this a secret, but Chunt has already told a starling that had landed on his stick arm. They open up packages from viewers to take their minds off what just happened.
