Description
"Princess Trachea Aurelia Belaroth is back to talk about her path to the throne and who might help her make it happen."
Summary
Chunt informs Arnie and Usidore that he has begun socializing with other king animals including the king of otters and the king of horses. They call themselves the Insane Crown Posse. News of King Albain Belaroth's death has now reached Hogsface.
The guests are Princess Trachea-Aurelia Belaroth and the eunuch Benedict Whisperbrew. Trachea is unmoved by her father's death, but has redoubled her efforts to finding and killing her brother Tomblain so that she may take the throne. Benedict, who has been replaced at court by an old rival eunuch, Duncan Brittlebrains, is conspiring with her. As they travel, Trachea-Aurelia prefers to dine only on king animals, a fact which worries Chunt (badgers are not generally food animals, but its only a few days until the Feast of St. Pedtlepats, the woman who introduced badgers to Foon, and badgers are usually served there).
Trachea and Benedict are aware of Tom's activities as an actor. To lure him out of hiding, they have written a script that they describe as pure Tosser-bait and are spreading news of open auditions. They perform a scene, and Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore try to persuade them to mount the play themselves. Benedict is convinced immediately, but Trachea is only persuaded once she is convinced that winning a Tosser before Tom will cause him the greatest pain prior to his death. They resolve to put on a show.
