Otok Barleyfoot is a half-elf, and the owner and proprietor of the Vermilion Minotaur. The tavern has been in his family for quite some time. He lets Arnie use his best booth to do his podcast, and offers Arnie a room at the inn in exchange for free sponsorship on the show.
Otok's wife was crushed to death by a Barleywood tree several years ago. His daughter Activia Barleyfoot ran away from home to join the Falsetto Mauraders, which has caused Otok much distress. Arnie is sympathetic, but encourages him not to talk about it on the podcast since it brings everyone down.
He is good friends with both Chunt (who has worked on and off at the Vermilion Minotaur for years) and Usidore (who he refers to by his elf name Fi'ang Yalok since Otok is half-elf.) He also has a brother named Omak who is a bard.1
His number 2 at the tavern is the barman Blemish, and while he is aware of Blemish's off-putting idiosyncrasies and vicious moods, Otok believes the barman is good at heart and will ultimately do right.
