“Surveillance Spider” is the eleventh episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on May 29, 2017.
Description
The Dark Lord may be spying on the people of Foon, and we’ve got one of his surveillance spiders in the tavern, ready to tell the tale.
Summary
Chunt is a guard now and is issuing "shots" to Arnie for rules violations. Pre-guest banter includes a tale of a murderous child who tried for years to kill Usidore. Arnie is excited about their guest who he believes has dirt on the Dark Lord. Sigint the Five Eyed Spider, who used to do surveillance for Albain Belaroth, now does surveillance for the Dark Lord. He requests all resonance stones be placed in a cold cellar to ensure absolute security.
Sigint explains how he taps into resonance stones to collect information. He's seen Usidore in the loo. Nice wiping technique, Usi. Sigint has been chasing black-hat surveillance spiders known as wikilegs who spin dark webs. Chunt notes that where there is dark web, there is usually morglorb. The best way to pay for things on the dark web is with coins bearing an imprint of your teeth. However, Sigint cautions that bit coins are highly susceptible to theft. Chunt, Usidore, and Sigint discuss the best things you can get on the dark web (linens and Adderal, primarily).
Sigint reveals how the Dark Lord is siphoning tribute earmarked for infrastructure and laundering it via dark web activities.
Arnie tries to explain cool trucks and what makes them interesting to rural Ohioans. Chunt and Usidore record a quick episode of Gettin' Nuts featuring truck nuts.
Arnie asks what they can do to stop the Dark Lord and his terrible cryptomantic deeds. Sigint suggests Pixie Goblin Privacy (PGP). Effective, yes. And also h4wt. Usidore communicates through birds by scrambling their brains. Sigint suggests using an obscure bird. Usidore decides on pelicans.
Despite a sudden blizzard, Sigint slips away, leaving a spun insult for Arnie in his wake: "Some Pig."
