"The Basement" is the eighteenth episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on July 17, 2017.
Description
Arnie and Usidore sneak into the basement while Chunt distracts Blemish.
Summary
Chunt is still a flamingo this week. Usidore says in his introduction that one of his secret names can destroy entire towns and families. A few of his names are written on a piece of paper hidden in a safe locked by two keys kept by two unknown people, which turns out to be Arnie and Chunt. Also, the safe as been under their table the entire time.
The trio discuss finding more secrets and weapons hidden in the Vermilion Minotaur, but they are worried about Blemish spying on them for the Dark Lord. Usidore suggests killing Blemish. Arnie doesn’t want to kill Blemish, so he suggests sneaking into the tavern basement and find something to use against him. Blemish arrives at their table and it is apparent that he enjoys singing, so Chunt distracts him by saying that they are recording a musical episode. Blemish starts singing and says that he was a musical theater major.
While Chunt and Blemish are singing musical numbers together, Arnie and Usidore take their microphones and sneak into the basement. There is a lot of orc shit down there, and also a lot of spices despite the spice embargo. Usidore finds a laser pointer and gets distracted by it. They rediscover the weapons they purchased from Traach, but they realize that almost everything they bought from Traach was trash. This includes the bone seed, and the Bowl of Watery Death, which supposedly drowns the person who pours water into it.
Arnie and Usidore find they are not alone in the basement and meet 52 Sacks of Flour, brought to life by the Dark Lord to be Blemish's wife. They get her to discuss embarrassing things about him (his webbed toes, and he sings and dances for her), but none of them are usable as blackmail. 52 Sacks of Flour reveals that she has never left the basement. Usidore suggests using a spell to swap the brains between Blemish and 52 Sacks of Flour so that she can be free to explore the world for the first time, while also imprisoning Blemish in 52 Sacks of Flour’s sessile body. They decide to go forward with this idea especially because 52 Sacks of Flour appears to be a good person who would rescue a puppy. They also discuss new names for her before she settles on Gina.
Usidore casts the spell and traps Blemish’s mind in the sacks of flour, who’s surprised that Usidore can use magic again. Arnie is relieved that they didn’t have to kill anyone, but he checks upstairs and sees Gina in Blemish’s body killing Philosophy Guy and Fleek. Usidore switches their brains back to stop her murder-spree, and Gina back in her flour sacks says that she accomplished everything she was sent here by the Dark Lord to do (kill Philosophy Guy and Fleek). Blemish back in his body rushes into the basement to confront Arnie and Usidore, but before he could return upstairs to contact the Dark Lord he is restrained by Usidore’s magic. Arnie accidentally pricks 52 Sacks of Flour with the bone seed, causing her to spill out and die.
Blemish screams in anguish, and starts launching cats from his mouth and spitting at Usidore and Arnie. Arnie grabs the Bowl of Watery Death and spit lands in the bowl. The Bowl shrinks Blemish down and starts drowning him. He sings a final song and reveals his love for Otok before he dies. Arnie and Usidore decide to cover up Blemish’s death.
