“Birdman of Hogsface” is the second episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on March 27, 2017.
Description
Larry Birdman returns to catch us up on the rules he’d like to change in the game of Mittens.
Summary
Arnie opens the show with a mouth full of snacks. Chunt doesn't get snacks; he gets a bowl of water and scraps. Usidore points out that the guards are trying to curry Arnie's favor. Usidore still isn't quite himself and falls asleep during his name recitation. Arnie is determined to stay positive, and believes he can defeat the Dark Lord by doing exactly as he commands. In fairness, the snacks are pretty great.
Larry Birdman, commissioner of the Foon Mittens League, has returned to kvetch about how Mittens is too long and complicated. Usidore counters that Mittens should be e'en more complicated, to encompass life itself. Larry notes that the Dark Lord, a big Mittens fan, used to own a now defunct rival league, the Huge Terrible Mittens League (HTML). The Dark Lord instigated some of the more odious rules of Mittens. One being that female players must be directed by males with sending stones (Rockie Talkies). Also the Mulligan Rule allowed one extra player per team if their name is Mulligan.
Usidore asks for a chicken wing for a snack, and he seems to have a cunning plan (wink!).
Chunt announces he and Usidore are still recording Gettin' Nuts at the behest of the Dark Lord, up to 100 episodes a day. Larry and the lads discuss the pros and cons of evil vs. chaos. The Dark Lord's favorite team, the Rickles Snicklebaggers, were eliminated in the Tenth Anniversary Round Robin Super Station Wagon and banned from playing ever again.
Arnie asks if there is anything Larry can do to help them defeat the Dark Lord. Larry maintains that his number one priority is to change the rules in the FML; after that, he's free to help.
Emails
Travis asks why is Foo often invoked, but not Oo or Oon? Usidore answers: Because she's first. Foo is green and made the land; Oo is blue and made the seas; Oon is white and grey and made the sun and sky. Oon also makes really good pancakes.
Warren from Ipswich, Australia: Warren has been ill, but has faith in Arnie's ability to defeat the Dark Lord.
