"Necromancer Performance Review" is the thirty-third episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on October 30, 2017.

Description

It’s time to talk to Dripfang the Chef Inquisitor about how evil he is and if he can do his job better.

Summary

Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore are excited and happy with the recent departure of the Dark Lord, who has given them control of Hogsface. They've released all prisoners and declared the town liberated, though most of the Dark Lord's minions from the occupation remain. Chunt has become head of the Dark Lord's guards. Usidore has taken the role as head of Streets and Sanitation, and Arnie is in charge of the Vermilion Minotaur.

As the new rulers of the town they've called in Dripfang for a performance review. Dripfang has been on a bender since learning he's been placed under Usidore, Arnie, and Chunt's supervision. They direct him to drop his habit of murdering underlings and his harsh interrogation techniques, before asking him to question Hogsface's dead in the cemetery to see if any took secrets about the weapon in the Vermilion Minotaur to their graves. It's a task he shows great enthusiasm for, reminding the others he will turn on them as soon as the truce is limited.

The conversation quickly turns to the others' performance, the table agrees that Arnie's performance has been subpar. In the middle of Usidore's review Dripfang tries to tempt him into joining the Darklord and is rebuffed, as he is when he tries to tempt Chunt. In part as punishment for that he's instructed to "downsnake", that is release half of the snakes that make him up.

Notes

  • The painting of Darby Barleyfoot, which concealed the Blade Of Veysco Hallan, has changed and now points to the family crest of Blemish. Since a cat vomited by Blemish was part of the Orange Beast Riddle, that means the Riddle of Irving Clark is another (redundant) clue directing the trio towards to the Orange Beast Riddle.
