"Blue Chris-Must" is the forty-first episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on December 25, 2017.
Description
It’s Winter Solstice time again and music is in the air. And we’re visited by two Great Blue Tigers.
Summary
Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore discuss the various holidays that occur around Solstice, and its revealed that Arnie has been telling them the various story lines of Love, Actually. The notice a cloaked figure listening in, who is revealed to be two of the Great Blue Tigers, Cerulean & Azure, who have been listening along all week. Their sister Sapphire had previously dated Chunt and died at Make Out Point.
The tigers share their favorite solstice holiday HAGBM where they Help A Greedy Business Man by showing him visions of his life: Cerulean is the Great Blue Tiger of the Past, Azure is of the Present, and Sapphire was of the Future; since Sapphires death, the holiday has been less successful, or as Cerulean later admits "totally ruined." The Tigers insist they don't resent Chunt for Sapphire's death.
The Tigers, along with their traveling companion and accompanist Lioncolet, sing Arnie some holiday songs:
- Don't Let the Rain Fall on Me
- Send in the Clouds
- Merry Hagbm to You
- Count Our Teeth
- Pappy Wants to Shift the Shiftmas
- One Horse Open Slay
- Giftagain
- Can's Exposition Song
- A Lad's Hagbm Song
- The Nee-nee in the Mirror(Love Actually/X2)
- Bye-bye Magic
In the course of the episode, the Tigers determine that Arnie is the greedy businessman they must reform, and take him back in time to the early days of his courtship with his wife Sarah where he's watching Love Actually and/or X2:X-Men United. He then is shown a vision of the present, where he is shown a view of the The Smouldering Widow, where he sees a five-year old man who cannot afford a new shirt and is considering selling his eyes.
The whole group tries to guess the future, since it cannot be visited, but after a few guesses decides instead to see what Foon would be like if Arnie if never come from Earth. It's revealed that neither Usidore not Chunt are as happy as they are with Arnie, though Chunt would have discovered the cure for cancer had Arnie not arrived. Out of desperation, the Tigers complete the past/present/future triptych by summoning Can the Wizard.
Though the visit to the future doesn't work as planned, Arnie demonstrates that has regained his Solstice spirit by giving money to the members of a Lad's Choir. The Tigers, Chunt, and Usidore reiterate Arnie's lesson with a medley before they depart.
