"But What About the Baron?" is the sixty-eighth episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on July 15, 2018.
Description
Baron Ragoon barges into the Ruffled Feather hoping to move the story along.
Summary
Now Tricia is trying to hack into the space bunker’s defense system, but gets the same results that Craig got last week, which is the Mysterious Man insulting her.
Arnie introduces the show as “Hello from the Black Magic Tavern” since they are still in the Ruffled Feather. Arnie and Usidore are no longer bothered by being the Ruffled Feather, commenting on how much they are learning from this new tavern (which they then retract later and say the Ruffled Feather sucks.)
While the guys are discussing the tavern, they see Baron Ragoon across the way talking to another patron. The Baron sees them and comes to sit at the table.
The Baron tells them that Activia has basically closed off the Vermilion Minotaur to the general public, requiring a password to get into the tavern. The Baron is there to yell at the guys to get back on task, which is to find a weapon hidden in the Vermilion Minotaur.
Usidore tells the Baron that the boy king Dartholomew, the heir of Grimfallon, has returned. The Baron is very upset about this because the area he rules over, the Shrike Valley, is under rule of Grimfallon, but since the king has been gone for so many years, the Baron has been free to do what he pleases.
The Baron expresses some frustration with the Dark Lord and how the conquest is currently going. Usidore tries to get the Baron to change allegiances, which he refuses, but he says that they need to get back on track to defeat the Void so that things can go back to normal and they do not have to work together anymore.
After the break Arnie asks the Baron if they can do anything to cheer him up. The Baron gives him a laptop to look at. Usidore admits that he tried to copy his technology, and the Baron stole it and has been using it but now needs help to fix it. The computer needs an update and the Baron needs Arnie’s password. The Baron admits to stealing Arnie’s memories and has been trying to use those memories to guess the password. It turns out to just be 12345.
The guys resolve to go back to the Vermilion Minotaur to find the weapon they need to defeat the void. Arnie says they should just break in and steal what they need. They need to plan a heist.
Emails
Chunt gets an email that asks when they record the podcast. They record at any time of the day, depending on when it works out best.
Arnie gets an email that contains an email with a suggestion about how to get back into the Vermilion Minotaur. The writer suggests they rezone the area and make it so Activia can’t run a business, but Arnie says they can’t use zoning for evil.
Space bunker
Tricia is jealous of the heist, and continues to be insulted by the defense system.
