"Dripfang Returns" is the seventy-second episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on August 12, 2018.
Description
Dripfang the Chef Inquisitor stops by the tavern in an attempt to improve the podcast.
Summary
Craig begins the episode and discovers the Mysterious Man attempting to return and goes to warn Tricia.
Inside the Ruffled Feather, Macho Mantis Randy Mantis attempts Arnie’s typical intro, but leaves after a tense exchange with Arnie. Arnie summons Chunt and Usidore and realizes they need a safe word for situations like this. They settle on ocelot-podcast-francine. The best passwords are complex.
Usidore is sad because they haven’t made much progress in defeating the Dark Lord or the Void. They only managed to secure a few magical items from the Vermilion Minotaur. Chunt reminds him they have #PhilTheVoid.
Dripfang kicks in the door and makes a grand entrance. He tells the lads they must get people in the Earth dimension to hunt for the weapon to destroy the Void. He has obtained the Baron’s laptop and has been researching Earth podcasts. The most popular podcasts seem to be centered around arguing about sportsing or popular culture or recipes for…murder!
Arnie suggests they should try to get a segment on This American Life. They try creating a TAL minisode. After reading some emails, Arnie recommits to expanding their podcast outreach.
Space bunker
Back in the space bunker, the Mysterious Man returns, but Craig and Tricia shut down his coup by announcing they have found the original personnel roster for the bunker. Craig insists on being called by his proper title as given by Bunker Guardian High Council — Emperor — and he has made Tricia Queen. The Mysterious Man has been demoted to Intern, and he’s plenty pissy about it.
