"Hunger Ghost Returns" is the seventy-eighth episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on September 23, 2018.
Description
Chunt’s dad is back in town for Chunt’s upcoming wedding!
Summary
Our heroes are once again ensconced at the Vermilion Minotaur, and Chunt is very excited about his upcoming nuptials to Twosidore. He is unconcerned that Twosi is already married to a woman named Madeline, and he is sure they will all be very happy.
As is tradition, Usidore gives Chunt a series of engagement gifts, including a golden goblet, his horse Chode, and a visit from Chunt’s papi, Hungho the Hunger Ghost. Arnie, clueless about Foonish traditions, is empty-handed, but he improvises some “gifts” from the wall. He also agrees to be Chunt’s best man until he learns this involves rather a lot of standing.
Hungho is happy for his son, but seems apprehensive about having a wizard in the family. Like many dads, Hungho’s views are pretty conservative, and he takes any opportunity to steer the conversation to the Dark Lord making Foon great again.
When Chunt slinks off to the bar in a funk, Usidore admonishes Arnie and Hungho to get on board with the wedding and be happy for our little badgie. Arnie realizes he’s never had the honor of being a Best Man before and commits to being supportive. He’s actually pretty excited about some of the Best Man duties, such as planning the badgelor party, slaughtering a cow, and performing a puppet show in a graveyard.
