Description
It’s time for Chunt’s annual blood drive for lazy vampires, Chunt for Red October. This year he has two mummies along to help.
Summary
Arnie’s late. In his absence, Chunt and Usidore struggle with the intro, and eventually default to Gettin’ Nuts. Arnie finally arrives, and he’s soaked. He’s been working on the Orange Beast Riddle and has discovered a secret about the Vermilion Minotaur: a river runs through it. Specifically, it runs through the basement, and when he waded in, it glowed.
But Chunt can’t be bothered with this, as it’s Chunt for Red October, his annual blood drive for lazy vampires. Usidore hints that he may still have some vampiric tendencies from his final days as Usidore the Brighter Blue. Chunt introduces this week’s guests, mummies Doris and Eugenia. They live in a mummy hive and serve the Queen Mummy by bringing her jewels. They also have the power to level really passive aggressive curses on those who annoy them. Arnie’s clumsy interviewing style earns him one of these curses.
They’ve decorated the tavern for Arnie’s Halloweve and entertain him by acting out Earthan Halloweve films. Usi conjures Arnie a Sexy Firefighter costume (it’s just sexy water). Usi also manages to accidentally set Doris on fire, but she puts herself out before much damage is done. Usidore feels bad and offers Doris a chance to set him aflame as well, which she accepts. Arnie dons his Sexy Firefighter costume, and it gets thirsty in the tavern. Nobody bothers to douse Usidore.
Emails
Reading an email memorializing Crazy Jared, Arnie notes that he found magic paint in the basement and reveals a carfoon of Blemish he had painted to try to hide his death. The carfoon takes life, but drawn by Arnie’s hand, he won’t live long.
Usi reminds us he’s still on fire.

Magic
- Usidore summoned tears so the two mummies could cry: rath roth groth niath
- The mummies did a passive aggressive curse on Usidore, intending to kill him with kindness: curse on you you, a curse that you would have a pleasant morrow, a curse that a ray of sunshine would fall through your window and across your face
- The mummies explained that a curse can only come from a mummy. Usidore explained that he was only prepared to deal with hexes, and had less experience dealing with curses.
- Usidore gave the mummies the ability to drink rainbow bowls: scrumble bumble yimble bimble dumble dumble dump
- Chunt pointed out one of Usidore’s specific spell styles: “it sounds like: doth groth mith moth myeth myoth”

- Eugenia the mummy explained something about mummy curse magic. It is more of a curse philosophy. They do not have predetermined notions and cannot truly be predicted. You spend your days worrying about whether the curse will or will not happen.
