Description
Usidore and Spintax host a web radio show from Chicago.
Summary
Arnie and Chunt are in the Vermilion Minotaur, but Arnie has declared himself the Trickster God Carnival Wilson. After his failure to save Sarah he means to will himself into the sort of ruthless, cunning, and amoral force of nature who will succeed where the soft and passive Arnie has failed.
However the transmission is interrupted by Craig in the Space Bunker, who is more interested in the fate of Usidore and Spintax back on Earth. He switches signals to intercept the Chicago Knitting and Supernatural Show back on Earth, which Usidore and Spintax host and have renamed Hello From the Normal Household.
There they share their experiences living on Earth and explain differences between life on Earth and life on Foon. They have also taken responsibility for Sarah and Arnie’s daughter, who they are calling Phone, on the logic that Phone was what her mother seemed to love most in the world.
They take a number of calls that highlight their parenting techniques, their relationship to each other, and their exploits at Medieval Times. They agree that despite their past differences they are happy and looking forward to years of co-habitating on Earth and raising Phone, when Usidore suddenly begins to be pulled back to Foon. Spintax’s spell bringing him to Earth was too underpowered to make the move permanent. As he vanishes, Usidore makes Spintax promise to care for Phone, which Spintax agrees to despite the fact that he is “not a good guy.”
Craig switches back to monitoring Foon, and confirms Usidore has re-appeared in the Vermilion Minotaur. Arnie and Chunt catch him up on what he’s missed, and note that he seems to have Sarah’s arm in place of his own obsidian one. Usidore and Chunt express continued concern at Arnie’s embrace of the Carnival Wilson persona, but Arnie shows no sign of dropping it.
