"Mittens and Literature" is the eighty-eighth episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on December 2, 2018.
Description
Larry Birdman stops by with updates on the Hogsface mittens stadium and what he’s currently reading.
Summary
Arnie is still inhabiting the persona of Carnival Wilson, Trickster God, dedicated to returning to earth and reuniting his family whatever the cost. Chunt is deeply uncomfortable with the change but Usidore is excited for an ally as dedicated and devious as himself.
The guest is Foon Mittens commissioner Larry Birdman. Larry’s long struggle to reform Mittens rules has ended largely in failure. The 700 point bird rule is still in effect, though minor changes to pitch size and frittata prep standards have passed.
Instead Larry is promoting both his Third E for Bert E videos, and the new stadium being built in Hogsface for the Mittens 10th Anniversary Round Table Round Robin Circular Superstationwagon. The huge stadium will be a boon for the town, though not as large a one as it might have been. The contract for the stadium came down to two bidders, Lord and Lady Superhoot, who planned to funnel 100% of the proceeds to charity and the town; and Mysterious Anonymous, who won and will be keeping the proceeds for the Mysterious Anonymous Foundation.
The trio mentions their book club book, Pride & Prejudice, and Larry shares his current read, Bride of Prejudice, the second prequel in the new Judice series.
Larry hopes Arnie will be able to check out a Mittens game when the stadium is complete.
