"Mysterious Anonymous" is the ninety-first episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on January 13, 2019.
Description
This one involves a lot of eggs… oh, and Baron Ragoon.
Summary
Chunt has been working out to get in shape for the wedding. It involves a lot of eggs.
Baron Ragoon sneaks up on the lads in his baronial way and reminds them of the Dark Lord’s command that they return to the Vermilion Minotaur and find the weapon to destroy the Void. They show him Usidore’s new Sarah arm, replacing his obsidian limb. The Baron is unimpressed. He reveals himself as Mittens bidder Mysterious Anonymous and announces he has uncovered and dispensed with their spy Darby McDeer. She dead.
The boys are low key confused but confess they weren’t all that invested in this subplot. Between wedding plans and the book club, they haven’t had time. This is a sore point for the Baron, who was not invited to the book club despite his impressive literacy. They peg him as a total Mr. Collins.
After the midroll, the lads remember the Baron is terrified of the Boy King. Chunt leverages this to their advantage by inviting the Baron to his wedding with the Boy King as his plus one.
The Baron seems to be having a crisis of morals, waffling in his devotion to the Dark Lord. He’s heard rumors of the DL’s reputation being tarnished as “corny”. Out heroes realize their propaganda campaign is working and continue to sow seeds of doubt. They tempt him to become the villain who turns. This backfires, and the Baron’s faith in the DL is reaffirmed.
Arnie drops a hint that the Dark Lord is no match for trickster god Carnival Wilson. Shangleberth quivers slightly, but claims he’s not afraid of Carnival Wilson.
