"Modron" is the ninety-third episode of season two of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on January 27, 2019.
Description
We learn about the half organic, half robotic Modron, Weewoo, visiting from another, more orderly plane of existence. Also, there’s magic and stuff.
Summary
Arnie is confused about how long he’s been in Foon. Chunt asks for #TrackingChronology posts on social media.
Arnie has been so busy looking for the weapon in the Vermilion Minotaur, he’s forgotten to book a guest for this week’s show. Suddenly an odd tiny creature appears and squeaks, “Order!” Usidore invites it to have a seat, believing the tiny creature to be similar to the titular character from his favorite play, Automaton Constable. The creature squeaks, “Friend! Wee Woo!” It can parrot random words blurted by the lads, but not complete sentences. Usi believes it may be from the realm of Mechanis.
Arnie wants to learn more about Mechanis, but it’s so hard to communicate with Weewoo. Chunt suggests drugs. With Wee Woo’s consent, Usi casts a spell to expand its brain. Suddenly Wee Woo has a voice and it’s sexy as hell. They describe themself as a Modron: part flesh, part metal, spherical with spindly arms and legs and wings. He’s considering a name change and they settle on Samantha.
Samantha/Weewoo describes Mechanis as a plane of clockwork predictability. All Modrons are created by Primus, and as a low status single task Modron, Samantha has little opportunity for advancement. The lads want to help, so they role play an interview with a tetradonis. The lads also explain the concepts of friendship and adventure and sex. Samantha confirms that they do indeed fuck.
Arnie asks them why they left Mechanis. Weewoo acknowledges a hole in their life. They need a purpose. This epiphany sparks an evolution, changing Weewoo’s shape. They announce they will go on a quest. Usidore changes their voice again, and this time it sounds like a cross between Cockroach Clown and Pizza Skull. Usi tries to fix it, and Weewoo goes back to weewooing.
Before he leaves, he squeaks, “Friend Arnie. Friend Gasmuenas.”
