Description
Back on the high seas, Chunt hosts the fifth annual blood drive for vampires. Although blood may not cure the sea creature the hosts encounter.
Summary
Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore observe the fifth annual Chunt for Red October blood drive aboard the SS Stephanie. Chunt is trying to pay more attention to Eggy-Baby, Usidore has sent out invitations for his own wizards' guild, and Arnie is practicing his bear (language). The ship has struck and injured a creature named Chorly Benthsmaw who is half man, half amphibian, half fish. He is a sub-minion of the Dark Lord, but has never met him, and is only responsible for the maintenance of estuaries.
The trio interrogate Chorly for intelligence, but it's not clear whether his information on ocean conservation or the convoluted organisational charts will be useful in the fight against the Dark Lord. He is aware of some upcoming event involving Roderick, the VP of Minions, on the Foonsty River near Cadaver Falls. He also notes that the Dark Lord's minions are never allowed to have a meeting on Wednesdays. Finally, Chorly agrees to wear one of Arnie's microphones so the trio can listen in on his future conversations.
Chorly also shares his memories of growing up, his dead brother Mike, and does his best to explain his species' life cycle. Ultimately, Usidore finds his healing rock, and heals Chorly.
Later, Arnie and Usidore listen to the mic they placed on Chorly. Instead of anything useful they mostly hear Chorly getting passed over promotions, but are still excited they pulled off an eavesdropping.
