"Jazzhands" is the forty-sixth episode of season three of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on June 22, 2020.

Description

A traveling story singer needs help with her songs. Also Chunt might die.

Summary

Chunt interrupts Arnie's usual intro when he mishears his name being called. Unable to turn on his camera, Chunt tells Arnie that he hasn't been able to control his shapeshifting very well and his form has now settled on a sand castle with a badger head on top. Unfortunately, since Chunt is still on the beach during the Shattering, which Arnie wants to change into the Fragmenting, the tide is slowly rising and the tide could take Chunt out for good. Usidore is able to turn on Chunt's camera, but they decide to turn it off since his impending doom would be too gruesome.

Although he is constantly worried about Chunt, Arnie forces himself to continue to the podcast, bringing on Spirulina Jazzhands, a journeying story singer. Spirulina is a fantastic singer, however she is unable to come up with meaningful lyrics as she finds her adult life rather mundane and ends up just missing crucial events that could be compelling to sing about. She believes she is meant to do more since as a child she can do cartwheels and tumbles, skills she had not seen anyone else do. Spirulina finds Chunt's situation rather interesting and hopes to be there when the tide takes him.

Lately, Spirulina has been struggling to find new material to sing about, especially that many of her songs involve water. Chunt suggest that Spirulina lies in her stories, but she refuses, only comfortable to exaggerate, but not to lie. She debates dying, since people are more famous in death. She also tried out on Foon idol 59 times, but has yet to win. Usidore recognizes the contest and starts to sing one of the winner's songs when the waves finally consume Chunt.

This presented an opportunity to sing a farewell song to Chunt. Spirulina was able to produce a song, overcoming her rhyming mental blocks. Chunt reveals that although his body is gone, he remains a badger head.

The podcast continues with Usidore thinks that Bruce the Sky God may be the one responsible for the Shattering/Fragmenting. Spirulina mentions that she might be related to him, being his daughter and, in turn, being the half sister of Arnor the Warrior. Usidore and the gang depends on Spirulina to talk to Bruce the Sky God and end the Shattering/Fragmenting, and Spirulina ends the podcast by singing a song about her father.
