Description

A night of tavern-hopping with a king, a wet rag and a lizard.

Summary

Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore celebrate being back at the Bowlegged Moose, or at least being back in a tavern in general, to record the podcast in a titular location. Arnie shares a story that compares his college town to this one, highlighting the aspect of "The Potential of the Night". This leads the trio to give a series of one-man shows, where the topic of the monologues given by Usidore and Chunt are about childhood trauma and mothers.

To get back to the swing of things, Arnie invites a stranger to their table, wearing fancy garb and a crown. He introduces himself as King Zachy, from the land of Royalty. he brags about his numerous subjects, ownership, and wealth. Although Usidore and Arnie are taken by his glamour, Chunt is not buying any of it. He calls out more bullshit when he finds that Kind Zachy, supposedly rich, has not bought any of his drink that night, relying on others to bring him free things and takes their money for promises of tripling their generosity. However, even Chunt cannot ignore the call to stardom when King Zachy invites Chunt and Usidore back to his kingdom to perform their one-man shows in front of an audience for a small fortune. They would have to give him money so he could book a ship for them to travel on.

Arnie suggests that they all should go bar hopping over to the tavern across the street, The Sacrilegious Pelican. They invite King Zachy to join them, where they are seated at a table with a single Wet Towel with Legs. This rag is actually sentient and talks to the group. Usidore asks the Wet Towel if he could use him to clean the table for King Zachy, which the Wet Towel is willing to do if he could perform his one-man show, which is oddly similar to Chunt’s one-man show. Chunt assumes that the Wet Towel and the king were working together and Usidore fixes Wet Towel’s broken legs with the healing rock. His legs aren’t fixed, but it does act as a cum rock for him.

The night of bar hopping does not end here as the five head off to Dozens, where they are greeted and seated by Lizard Jim. Immediately, Chunt is convinced that Lizard Jim is also working with King Zachy and Wet Towel in a ruse to take all of their money. King Zachy in turn steals Chunt’s conspiracy theory and accuses Lizard Jim, Wet Towel, and Usidore for being fakes.

At this point, no one in the group, not even in the main podcast trio, knows who can be trusted. Any show of trust is performed by handing all one’s money and giving it to who is the most trusted in their opinion. As one last plea to Chunt that Lizard Jim is who he says he is, he performs Chunt’s one-man show, claiming it as his own and referring to everything as “lizard something”. To prove Wet Towel has real legs, Usidore stabs his own leg, revealing that Lizard Jim is not who he says he is.

A series of slow claps (sometimes at the same time) reveals the following in this order:

  • Lizard Jim is really King Zachy, looking over his son, Prince Zachy who has claimed was King Zachy.
  • Wet Towel is really Lizard Jim and really needs to go to the bathroom.
  • Prince Zachy who has claimed was King Zachy, is really King Zachy and Lizard Jim, who claimed is King Zachy, is really just King’s Zachy’s viceroy.
  • Usidore made up King Zachy, Wet Towel, and Lizard Jim in order to take Arnie’s and Chunt’s money for their quest.
  • King’s Zachy’s viceroy, formerly Lizard Jim, who claimed is King Zachy, is really the Tech Wiz Geek Geek Boy, who put them all in a virtual reality a la Spider-Man Far From Home.
  • Wet Towel, who is really Lizard Jim, is a Wet Towel with Legs and everything just said before is a lie.
  • King Zachy is still King Zachy and needs everyone’s money to be richer.
  • Arnie wanted to have a secret revelation, but couldn’t think of one when he had all the time, which everyone normally claps for him for admitting his folly.

At last, Chunt gives his slow clap, revealing to Arnie that the whole night was orchestrated so that Arnie can admit that he does not have the answer to everything. All the guests and Usidore are really brooms with capes and wigs and Chunt was throwing his voice. The Real Usidore walks in and Chunt reveals to him that everyone with him, including Arnie are brooms with wigs and capes and he was bar hopping with them to make Usidore jealous so he would not be late to the podcast anymore. The King Zachy broom questions if he took anyone’s money, but the brooms discuss their sentience, leading Chunt to beg the real Usidore to help him get rid of the voices he created. Usidore hands Chunt a cum rock and leaves Chunt to cure himself.
