"Princess Trachea's Plan" is the eighty-seventh episode of season three of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on April 19, 2021.

Description

The search for Prince Tomblaine leads to the secret lair of Princess Trachea-Aurelia Belaroth, who is still plotting her brother's death.

Summary

In the outskirts of Northeastia, deep in a cave (eventually revealed that it is the cave where Tom has to do the Bat Dance), Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore are sneaking up to Princess Trachea-Aurelia Belaroth's abode to confront her about her brother’s disappearance and to retrieve Benedict Whisperbrew’s manuscript. While they are going in, Chunt and Usidore are tiptoeing around the idea of a rat, since the idea itself is so terrifying. The two are also reminded that the show is an audio podcast and the audience cannot see what they are doing.

As Séance the Cat leads the way, the gang reach Trachea but are almost immediately caught. They cover by singing happy birthday to her to no avail. Trachea recalls who they are, despite not being on the podcast for a while, after forgetting and forcing herself to remember again. After going over how the hosts love each other and do not say very often, they confront Trachea on the most important thing on their minds; the play that she and Whisperbrew wrote together. Usidore and Chunt found it trite and obnoxious and wonder if Trachea absconded to the cave out of embarrassment. As far as she says, she denies it.

Trachea and Usidore argue between each other, thinking that they have won the argument. Usidore accuses Trachea for Tom’s Kidnapping and stealing Whisperbrew’s manuscript, which she reacts to hearing the information for the first time. She justifies her innocence in Tom’s disappearance by stating she would much rather see him dead and dismembered than waste time trapping him and holding him. Trachea goes into detail on how his body would be displayed and how much joy it would bring her. She also says she is no longer in the playwriting business and is putting all her focus on how to murder her brother to take the throne for herself.

Arnie looks around the cave and notices the very bone-specific decoration. Trachea proudly claims her work, although Chunt finds the work very basic. Usidore offers to buy the whole lot for 12 coin, the official currency of Northeastia. Trachea counters, also adding any information on the whereabouts of her brother. Since the group knows almost nothing, they gladly accept. However, during the description of the coin, Trachea is disgusted, shaming her brother and claiming he is unworthy of the throne. She calls out the guys and asks why they are supporting Tom and if he even has a plan. Trachea lays out her own plans for the kingdom; they are brutal, but not outright evil.

The conversation shifts over to Trachea’s love life. Although she had several lovers, it was Whisperbrew that broke her heart. After trying to “spawn” with Whisperbrew, she was able to obtain the heart of the cursed boy and Whisperbrew stomped on it. It was then that she admitted that she indeed took his manuscript. She claims that the work is good, but Usidore points out that she thought her play was bad, prompting her to justify her choices in the writing.

The group asks what Trachea’s current plan is, but she is at an impasse. This is her first time planning on her own and does not have many ideas by herself. Her minions help the people remember she is to be feared, but Usidore suggests that family therapy could help so she and Tom could rule together. Trachea agrees to this so she can lure Tom to kill him, but Usidore does not get a verbal confirmation that she will not do this.

Emails

Amy writes that they have been listening since 2015 (Season 1, Episode 9 - Goblins). They say that the show is incredible and has been there for them since Junior Year of high school, Undergrad (Class of 2019), Grad School (Class of 2020), and their first year as a high school teacher.

Chunt has also received an email from Roseanne from Singapore, who says Chunt has a sexy voice. They all assume that Chunt was the one who wrote it.

Arnie asks if the listeners can email Trachea, and she says yes.
