"Casino" is the eighty-eighth episode of season three of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on April 26, 2021.

Description

The gambling parlors are setting odds on the next ruler of the Northeast, with a little help from master gambler Five Finger Flint Gustoon.

Summary

At the top of the podcast, Chunt is excited to give Arnie his new dog with a tuxedo, Scoop Boopy, the dog mentioned from the last episode. Arnie assumes that it was already killed by Princess Trachea Aurelia Belaroth, and makes it clear that he does not want it. When Arnie asks how he could afford to get a dog since they are low on funds, Chunt admits that he stole the dog. Luckily, they are at The Rooster’s Left Foot, a casino within Northeastia. Arnie is not a big fan of being there as neither Chunt nor Usidore have impulse control.

Usidore spots a big board with a bunch of bets on who will take over the throne. Five Finger Flint Gustoon comes by, with his sexy-ass voice, and explains how these bets work. Reeling from the last email he read from Roseanne from Singapore, Chunt figures that Five Finger is a plant to undermine his own sexy voice. In turn, Chunt counters with a deeper sexier voice. Five Finger goes over some of the top contenders on the throne that the group may not be familiar with, like Sir Scootington of Scootvilles and King Elder Flower. However, the latter may be dead. Five Finger explains that what happened with King Elder Flower happened to his uncle. He bet against his father, Four Finger, that his uncle was dead and won.

Five Finger goes over his past with the trio; His family is a gambling family and his primary sources of income is scalping tickets and counterfeiting. He also has some long term bets, including ones about his own fate. However, his bets are not all encompassing as he adds the chance of being killed by a personalized, monogrammed fireball, as suggested by Usidore. There have also been bets on the interactions of the interview. Five Finger bet that Chunt's deeper voice is fake while Arnie bet Chunt would not be able to keep up the voice past the break. Five Finger was able to get Usidore ponder on past love (i.e. Jyn'Leeviyah the Red, which causes Usidore to cry and Five Finger and Arnie winning their respective bets.

For the Name board, Chunt readies to place a bet on himself (as his mother has always told him). He also decides to bet on The House, since The House always wins. This requires them to place high stake bets in a different location; the basement. Here, there are paintings of Faceball greats and several different rooms for additional betting. If one bets on the House, one would use their fingers. Usidore is more than happy to give Chunt fingers for the bets, while Arnie offers a snarky one finger (it's the middle finger). Arine also spots a sign that says "No Magical Fingers" , which forces Chunt to give up Usidore's wizard fingers and take from Usidore's non-magical bag of fingers.

In a stroke of genius, Chunt suggests to Usidore to bet one of his secret names. Five Finger agrees, betting using his own name. They head down to the Kobalt fighting pits. Arnie wants to participate in the bets, so he puts up Scoop Boopy as collateral. However, the casino would have to house it in the Orphanage of Living Bets. Five Finger admits that the fighting pits are a shame. It is just another part of Five Finger's elaborate bets. He had set up many possibilities, some may have drowned some dwarves.

Still determined to come out ahead, Chunt says he knows a way to still get Five Finger's name. In a double or nothing bet, Chunt bets that Five Finger would win the bet, creating the Gambler's paradox. For losing the bet, Five Finger is ready to chop his fingers off to no longer be Five Finger Flint. Chunt just tells him to use Scoop Poopy, which he changes his name to Fiver Finger Scoop Poopy.

As a final bet at the Casino, Usidore puts 100 coin for Tomblain Belaroth to ascend the throne. Chunt puts a post-diction on him as well. However, with Five Finger being able to plan for all possibilities, Arnie questions his ethics as a casino worker and gambler, But Five Finger neither confirms nor denies his tampering of the odds. Chunt asks another question, but is cut off by Five Finger, trying to predict how Chunt will die. He warns him of a person who dresses flamboyantly, before faking his death and crawling away.
