"Beer Window" is the eighth episode of season four of Hello from the Magic Tavern. It was originally released on December 5, 2021.
Description
A night of drinking magical mental martinis leads to the discovery of a murder!
Summary
It’s Winter Solstice time in Nibblebottom and the village is being adorned with decorations. There have been many holidays already in a row. Chunt made a salsa with cranberry and snow on Winter Salstice, where everyone makes salsa. Arnie missed Bonksgiving, where someone says something dumb then the person on their left bonks them on the head. Chunt and Usidore demonstrate how the holiday works.
Arnie tells the group about a clip he discovered while looking for the lost Zach Plasma episode. Back in Season 3, Ep 31 - Thieves, Squeen, Mike, and Kevin, sang the praises of the Dark Lord, also known as Chris. The group has forgotten that the Chris of Chris-Must is the Dark Lord. However, with the Dark Lord in Blemish’s body, it seems doubtful that Foon will have a Chris-Must this year. It is also unclear how much power that the Dark Lord has now during this time of year. But with Tormaline watching over him, and since the episode is not a clip show, Arnie suggests they just hang around for a drink, like old times.
Since Arnie is paying for the first round, he proposes that they all get some of the Mentinis supplied by Mentis. When he does go to the bar and gets the round, Usidore comments that Arnie is not trying too hard to get a guest for the show anymore and that they should all go on a grand quest again, even greater than defeating the Dark Lord. Arnie comes back and they all try some Mentinis. Usidore gets a powerful memory of a murder that occurred. The others try some of Usidore’s drink and fill in the gaps of the crime. A young man was murdered by a shadowy figure with a hatchet with arms. The detail about the hatchet with arms and not feet is a little nonsensical, even for Foon, so the group try to reason why a hatchet would murder and whom the hatchet would go after. Usidore goes as far as enchanting a hatchet with both legs and arms and talking to the new being.
The group is still missing some clues, so Arnie goes to get shots. After drinking more they learned that the event happened upstairs in the Strange Familiar. They also get the name of the victim. Arnie sees that there were some witnesses, two mice, who happen to sit at the table next to them. Usidore goes to interrogate them, only for them to admit that they have seen a murder then leave to head to the Tario Mountians, leaving the group no closer to an answer and very drunk.
Usidore struggles to get Arnie and Chunt to drink water as they sloppily try to solve the murder while drunk sad. Usidore confronts the Hatchet again and finds that the murderer is Bob Hatchet, a worker of Ebonian the Screw with a sick child that couldn’t get off during Chris-Must Time. After they all have sobered up, the group resolve to figure out how Chris-Must will work this year without Chris.
Meanwhile, the hatchet is gone and Chunt thought it went back in time to create the murder. He then asks to name the hatchet Bob Hatchet and for Usidore to give him a job. Usidore agrees to give the hatchet a job at his accounting firm, where he is known as Ebenezer Bluerobe. However, since Usidore is not celebrating HAGBM this year, he does not give him time off. Bob Hatchet tries to justify the time, but Usidore’s off-handed comment causes the Hatchet to attack and prompting Usidore to send it back in time. Though, he is not worried at all since he is still with the gang now. Arnie and Chunt end the episode by completing their respective songs that they started in the beginning of the episode.

Post Credit Scene
The two mice, one of them named Josh, make it to Suicide on the Tario Mountians. They share their kinship of being best friends after they experienced seeing a murder, but are started by a goofy dog. The mice are frightened and one of them, not Josh, steps on a duck and kills it. They are now terrified about Usidore finding them and accusing them of murder.
