Description
Aggie Thistlefield runs a rescue shelter for difficult to handle animal familiars.
Summary
The group is imminently traveling back to Hogsface to retrieve a magical weapon to defeat the wizards, though for today's episode they are still at The Dumb Pig. Usidore is disappointed that they still haven't set off.
They invite over a southern druid gnome named Aggie Thistlefield who is putting up flyers for her Familiar Action Rescue Team, or FART. Usidore fetches the table a trough of tea for Aggie, and two pearls before wine for Chunt and Arnie respectively.
Aggie begins telling them about the plight of familiars, some of whom become servants to wizards against their will. Others have anger issues and might try to murder their wizard. Aggie's rescue serves both groups of familiars until they can find another home. They have a whole program about parasocial relationships with familiars who become 'over familiar'. Familiars with benefits is also something they encounter, though the rescue strongly discourages romantic relationships due to the unequal power dynamic.
Usidore says he's had familiars in the past and Aggie tries to encourage him to adopt from her rescue, though Usidore demurs. Aggie switches to pitching to Chunt, who is intrigued that he could have a small animal to boss around.
Aggie explains to Arnie that familiars are different from pets because they are able to communicate and feel more complex emotions. They are more akin to roommates than pets. Aggie admits she takes on more familiars than she may have the capacity for.
Usidore shares that his last familiar was an 800-pound gorilla, who, about 140 years ago, tried to kill him with an obsidian dagger in his sleep. His name was Mr. Tonks. After a few years together, Mr. Tonks asked for time off of work but was refused; later that night, Mr. Tonks tried to kill Usidore. Aggie is skeptical about whether this was truly a familiar, since the behavior is quite atypical. The group realize that it was probably Spintax the Green in disguise, though his exact motives seem unclear.
Aggie tries to encourage them all to take a couple familiars off her hands, claiming that it will also help them have healthier relationships with each other. From her cart, she offers baby oozes, which stick to walls and can get into locked chests; a violent baby manticore that seems unstable; thieving crows; and friendly thieving rats. She explains that many adventuring parties have tons of different familiars to cover different tasks. The group realize they might look lame in comparison if they don't have any familiars themselves.
The hosts visit Aggie's sanctuary (which has an entry fee of 5 gold) to check out the rest of the available familiars. They spot various wild cats as well as a guy in a gorilla costume who sounds an awful lot like Spintax. Aggie explains that she feeds the familiars through partnerships with local businesses, as well as by finding dead bodies on the road. In the cave section, the group encounters a gaggle of night hags, which are half hen, half person, and tentacled. They also see a sentient house, the Baba Yaga hut, which requires a litterbox. Aggie also points out Reginald the night-mare, a demon horse that subsists on thieves' hands and whose mane and tail are on fire. It also requires daily affirmations and will murder other familiars out of jealousy. Lastly, they meet an upside-down camel with bladder problems.
Aggie takes them to the gift shop, which sells merchandise of their most popular familiars. There is also a souvenir crystal ball with a photo of Arnie and the camel, which Chunt purchases for 5 gold. Arnie expresses concern to Chunt and Usidore that they might have been lured here as food for the night-mare. As he speaks, Reginald the night-mare escapes his enclosure and sets the gift shop on fire. Arnie, Chunt, and Usidore help the familiars escape by taking shelter on the camel. The camel, whose name is Spider-Man, then flees, much to Aggie's dismay.
In the aftermath, Aggie is dispirited about losing her familiars and the shelter, but then Spider-Man the upside-down piss camel returns. The group hops onto the camel and sets off for Hogsface.

- Shrike requests them to sell a t-shirt with the phrase "Salad Tomorrow" in the merch store. Usidore comments that the correct phrase was actually "Tomorrow, Salad." Arnie promises to update his shirt in their merch store accordingly.
- The second email-writer comments, "Your voice has so much bass, my butt vibrates on car rides. Keep up the glorious work." All three hosts say thank you in a deep voice in response.
