Sheriff Omar is an officer of the language police. He hates puns, and seeks to keep the languages of Foon pure.

Omar's father Dave(of the line Dave, from the town Dave), was a language cop, and Omar, who he felt his father was always disappointed in him, became a language cop in his father's footsteps to win Dave's approval. Omar has a better relationship with his mother, a bone folder. Omar learned bone-folding from his mother and had a brief career folding bones as an entertainer.

On Hello From the Magic Tavern

Arnie, Chunt, & Usidore meet Omar at the Shrieking St.Oat. When they learn of his hatred of wordplay they are at first terrified they will run afoul the lawman, but simply cannot resist the urge to make puns in front of him. Luckily he does not appear to be perceptive enough to notice their puns. With some questioning they decide to help him switch careers, perhaps back to bone-folding. After a boon from the wizard results in Omar’s dead dog being transported back to his home (who he practiced bone-folding on), he chooses his final request carefully: for his father to love him. Usidore perceives via the Realms of Ephysiyies that Omar's father does love him, and would like to know that Omar loves him in return. Omar opts to withhold love from his father, a move the impresses the trio in its coldblooded boldness.
