"Journal Updated!" is the seventh episode and last episode of season one of the Usidore's Fetching Quests! miniseries. It was originally released on November 18, 2020.

Description

Usidore and Grimhoof return to Q’ueen Phinarae’ll L’ady of the Satur’neth F’orest with the artifacts they have gathered. But for what true purpose has she set them on this quest?

Summary

Usidore & Grimhoof return in haste to meet Q’ueen Phinarae’ll on the hill outside the Bloated Rabbit. The arrive in time and turn over the artifacts they have gathered:

  • A golden, emerald encrusted tea pot, capable of making a perfect cup of tea
  • A silken scarf from a multi-level marketing scheme
  • A vessel of Smart Water, that can hold any shape
  • Klagaa, a doll from a terrible dragon-milking cult
  • The four famed & glorious golden statues of EGOT

Q’ueen Phinarae’ll collects the items and gives her thanks to Usidore and Grimhoof. They soon grow disappointed when they realize their promised "eternal respect" is only Phinarae’ll's gratitude, though they quickly realize they had not been promised anything specific. Usidore's disappointment only increases when he learns the reason Phinarae’ll requested the items: she has decided to sponsor another questing party, comprised of halflings, and intends to gift the artifacts to them. Realizing the misunderstanding and not wanting to offend Usidore, Phinarae’ll quickly cries into a bottle and offers him a vessel of her tears, which can be used to summon visions the future. She also promises to recommend Usidore should the halflings require a wizard. To Grimhoof she reveals the amulet he has worn the past week, in addition to leading to the artifacts, increases his speed by 5x, making him now the fifth-EST fastest horse in Foon.

Now at least content with the results of the quest, Usidore realizes that, one week having now passed, Arnie will soon be recording a new episode of Hello From the Magic Tavern. Grimhoof races to deliver him back to the Bloated Rabbit in time, wreaking havoc in the streets before saying farewell and bucking him through the tavern window. Usidore comes crashing through the window just in time to introduce himself and list his titles at the podcast episode's beginning. He begins to tell of his quest, but is soon diverted by a conversation Arnie & Chunt had started about the drinking habits of fish.

Space bunker

After recapping Bunko's plan thus far, Craig & PV3 confront the insane AI in an attempt to take back the bunker. During the confrontation Bunko attempts to tempt PV3 into joining it with the revelation that RoboCorp, the conglomerate responsible for Bunko's gestalt AI, has secret information on PV3's origin. PV3 instead teleports Craig & himself to an escape pod and destroys Space Bunker Epsilon, and Bunko with it. Craig apologizes for ever doubting PV3's leadership skills. The two also realize Bunko's last act was to transmit a coded message to RoboCorp, and resolve to travel there to determine the reason, as well as the origins of PV3's human brain.

New characters

  • Frede, the lead halfling of Phinarae’ll's quest.

Notes

  • Though not mentioned by name, the town Usidore and Grimhoof create chaos in is Cadaver Falls, being the location of The Bloated Rabbit as mentioned in HftMT Season 3 Episode 4 - "More Moles"
  • The journal mentioned in the episode title is presumably the same one Usidore purchases from Akanak’shah the Sphinx when retrieving the first item in Ep 2 - "Working Sphinx"
